Prof Dr. André Lee is a specialist in neurology, which he obtained at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich. There he was a founding member of the interdisciplinary outpatient clinic for musicians’ medicine. He is currently Professor at the
Institute of Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (IMMM).
His clinical and scientific research focusses on task-specific dystonia and task-specific tremor as well as chronic pain in musicians and the effect of music and music-making on the brain.
His counselling languages are German and English.
His fee is €120 per hour. His fees are flat rates based on the German scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ 8/34/801/860). Invoices are provided on request. Prof. Dr André Lee is an internationally recognised expert in the field of musician’s medicine and task-specific movement disorders. After his
after successfully completing his medical studies at the Technical University of Munich, he obtained his doctorate with the distinction of “Summa cum Laude” at the Department of Neurology at the Klinikum rechts der Isar
of the TU Munich. His professional journey took him from a residency in internal medicine in Hamburg to a postdoctoral position at the renowned Institute for Music Physiology
and Musicians’ Medicine (IMMM) at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, where he published high-ranking publications.
Prof Lee completed his specialist training at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Neurology at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich, where he was also a founding member of the interdisciplinary outpatient clinic for music medicine. His habilitation on the subject of task-specific movement disorders in musicians emphasises his particular interest in medical issues relating to musicians.
Due to his outstanding achievements, Prof. Lee was appointed to a professorship at the IMMM of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in 2020, where, in addition to
scientific management tasks as well as teaching courses and the special outpatient clinic for musician’s medicine. At the same time, he continues to be deputy head of the
Outpatient clinic for musicians at the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich.
Prof Lee’s expertise in the field of movement disorders and musician’s medicine is recognised internationally, which is reflected in his regular presentations at scientific conferences
at scientific congresses. In addition to his outstanding achievements as a musician’s physician, he has been honoured for his work with a scholarship from the Richard
Wagner Association for his work. In the meantime, he has also been a board member of the German Society for Musicians’ Medicine. He is a member of the German specialist societies
for Neurology (DGN), for Neurophysiology and Imaging (DGKN), for Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine (DGfMM), as well as the International Society for Parkinson and Movement Disorders (MDS)

In addition to his clinical and scientific work, Prof Lee is a passionate musician and plays the violin in several German and international orchestras as well as in various chamber music formations
